Pioneering Solutions for the Circular Economy

During this year’s Warsaw Pack event, Poligrafika Opakowanie spoke with Tomasz Wolski, Regional Sales Director Central Europe at adapa, to discuss how we are tackling both the challenges and opportunities around sustainable flexible packaging.

🎥 Watch the full interview below to hear Tomasz walk through the details himself — from our latest product innovations to what PPWR means for our industry and our customers.

“Already today, we offer many solutions Designed for Recycling based on PP, PE and paper.”, said Tomasz.

Among the highlights presented were:

MonoClose(re) P-type: A reclosable PP-based top web, paired with the long-proven C-base to create a complete, recyclable PP thermoforming solution. A peelable version also performs impressively on customer lines.

PaperFlow(re) P-type: A recyclable paper-based flowpack that runs on existing lines previously used for plastic flowpacks. It’s certified under the rigorous Cepi Test Method 2.

These developments are not one-offs: they’re part of a much broader range comprising further sought-after innovations such as PE-based thermoforming sysrtem solutions, all crafted in-house with both top and bottom webs designed for optimal compatibility and recyclability.

Built to Adapt: Wide Portfolio and Strong Local Presence

adapa’s strength lies in combining European scale with local proximity. While young as a group, our foundations stem from long-established family businesses across Europe.

This local-global synergy means customers get tailored support and access to one of the industry’s most comprehensive portfolios. In Poland, Design for Recycling flowpacks, thermoforming, and skin packaging solutions are especially in demand.

Preparing for the Future of Packaging

Sustainability isn’t an afterthought at adapa; it’s embedded in every step of product development. With the PPWR packaging regulation now adopted, businesses must prepare for a drastically different landscape by 2030. We are doing just that, already aligning its innovations with future requirements.

“In 2030, the entire packaging market will have changed completely. We need to prepare now.”, says Tomasz.

Thanks to active involvement in key industry forums, our experts are staying ahead of evolving legislative frameworks and crafting recyclable packaging that future-proofs its partners.

Customers have already begun transitioning to recyclable solutions today. And with adapa’s adaptability baked into its DNA, the company is committed to leading the shift toward a truly circular packaging economy.
