Rethink your OPA/PE packaging with a medium oxygen barrier full PP solution!

Many grated cheeses tend to continue to gas even after being packed. This is why so far OPA/PE flowpacks have been the only solution for this application.

With our newest inhouse development of the medium oxygen barrier BarrTec Ultra-Low S.I.T. (sealing initiation temperature) CPP sealing layer we are now able to offer you a full PP solution within our MonoFlowʳᵉ P-type range. This allows your cheese to continue gassing and for your production to continue as smoothly as always – but now with a designed for recycling PP flowpack.

How to make PP-based flowpacks run efficiently:

Pure PP flowpacks can be quite a challenge on the packaging line. Finding just the right sealing temperature and making machine and film work perfectly together may take some time. Oftentimes, this has as a consequence that you cannot keep up with standard OPA-based packaging in terms of speed and packaging result.

With our low S.I.T. CPP sealing layers* – made in house at adapa – the Sealing Initiation Temperature is as low as 75°C and you can reach speeds of up to 100 cycles / minute and more on your flowpack lines. This makes pure PP flowpacks a real designed for recycling alternative to PET- or OPA-based laminates.

What are low S.I.T. CPP films used for in packaging?

Our high-tech sealing layer has an extremely low initiation temperature of approx. 75-80°C. When laminated against a “normal” OPP, the inner layer melts before the outer layer does. This and the very low COF (coefficient of friction) allows you to produce flowpacks on high speed flowpack lines – the final speed always depending on your machine and the final laminated film of course.

By the way, we also have a solution for pasteurisable products with our second variant which seals at 105-110°C.
